THERAPY SERVICES

Patty specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, parent/child relational struggles, self-esteem, LGBTQ+, career and personal development. Patty could help you manage these symptoms and behaviors with guided mental health therapy. She specializes in a variety of mental health and social issues. Therapy is provided in Sherman Oaks, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, and nearby areas.

Patty Flores is an activist, speaker, and educator. Patty has served marginalized populations, including foster, homeless, and probation youth; LGBTQ and youth of color; immigrants; and undocumented people.  Patty has two Associate degrees: an A.S. in Criminal Justice and an A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside and her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Smith College which bring the most effective mental health services for those who need them.

She has extensive knowledge and experience on issues related to self-esteem, anger, anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence, parent/child relational struggles, life transitions, relationships, family, foster care, immigration, incarceration, homelessness, LGBTQ+, self-identity, early childhood trauma, career and personal development, and school issues (middle school, high school, university).

Patty takes an empathetic approach to working with clients, having in mind their unique backgrounds and needs. Patty strongly believes that you are the expert on your experience, and she is here to listen, guide, and support you on your journey.

Patty has practiced behavioral therapy with children and adults for the past 2 years, and she worked in the counseling department at Los Angeles Pierce College 7 years ago under the supervision of a counselor and the dean. She worked at Los Angeles Pierce College as a Career and Guidance Counselor Assistant for the Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support (CAFYES). In this role, she supported current and former foster youth in achieving their educational goals and transferring to a four-year university. In addition to this experience, she has worked in the education profession, with nonprofits, and with government entities.

Patty has a relational, intersectional, and social justice approach when working with others. She has a deep understanding of the social challenges many people encounter. Patty is an activist in the U.S. and internationally. She has years of experience working with communities from different backgrounds. Patty is one of very few Latina and Spanish speaking therapist in Sherman Oaks. She also provides services to clients in Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, and nearby areas.
